The new A6 Avant model, which is on sale in Europe, has already been poured over, and now the rugged Allroad version has made its debut. The even better news is that this car will come to the United States. There have been many reports of North America’s new A6 car sales, and an Audi spokesman telling C / D that the company continues to consider to take the A6 Allroad to their shores. Since the C5 generation A6, they have not had an A6 Allroad and for the past few years, the A4 Allroad is the only vehicle that Audi has considered worthy of its US buyers.
The all-road treatment is well known now and the new A6 Avant C8-generation looks particularly sleek. The Allroad has additional black cladding, the optional all-wheel drive and an uplifting 1.8 inch higher drive height than the regular A6, comparable to others, including Volvo’s cross country models. The standard adjustable air suspension provides a small amount of off-road capability with features such as hill-descent control.
If this were to come in the United States, they could expect to power A6 Allroad with the same 3.0-liter turbo-charged V-6 as the A6 sedan (Europeans have several options for diesel engines which will certainly not reach their shores). The prices are expected to start in the low 60k dollar range which fits well with other luxury medium-sized wagons in USA such as the Volvo V90 Cross Country and the Mercedes-Benz E450.
We don’t know when the U.S. strategy for the A6 Allroad will be determined by Audi but we hope it will come soon, and definitely we hope it is a YES.
